Propers: all 180 leaves compared

The word sequence of printed pages 90–269 was compared with the separately formatted Satucket propers. Case, punctuation, word spacing and line-break hyphenation were normalized for that comparison. Both digital files share an editor; agreement between them is not independent certification.

Two candidate wording differences were checked visually in the certified Church Pension Fund edition: the Christmas collect begins “O GOD” (p. 98), and the Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity Epistle reads “that ye henceforth walk” (p. 216). The controlling Standard Book reading was retained in both cases.

318 decorative initials have been restored to their words or opening phrases. 24 pilcrow rubric markers have been restored from their ampersand extraction forms. Repeated running titles and page footers were removed; source leaf links remain available.

Verified text corrections

The independent scan also confirms “flame of thy love” in the Saint’s Day collect (p. 258), correcting “name of thy love” in both digital renderings. Thirty small-capital LORD fragments were rejoined in the reading text.

The certified Church Pension Fund scan carries John Wallace Suter’s September 1945 certificate. Its service directions and Selections of Psalms were visually compared on printed pages vii–ix.

1945 appointments and calendar tables

7 joined Scripture-book boundaries were separated in the 1945 extraction; all reference letters and digits remain in their original order. No calendar or computation-table numbers were changed.

The governing lectionary remains the one authorized in 1943 and published in 1945. Independent verification of every appointment, alternative set, starred lesson, calendar cell and table note remains to be completed. The original 1928 lesson tables are outside scope.

Independent OCR comparison

All 180 propers pages were compared with the independent scan’s OCR. That produced 2251 difference groups, including recognition and layout errors. These flags do not establish source mistakes. The queue has not been fully resolved by visual comparison; the Saint’s Day wording correction was separately verified on the printed page.

Remaining verification

  • Independent verification of every 1945 appointment and alternative set, including starred lessons and table footnotes
  • Independent verification of calendar, precedence and computation cells
  • Full punctuation/typography check of propers against certified print witness
  • Second check of corrections before claiming canonical status
  • Other existing Standard Book HTML pages remain outside this newly imported-text pass
